Financial Assessment of Business Operations and Exit Options: Assisting a client with conducting a financial assessment of their economic development corporation including: asset valuations, debt positions, exposure on financing guarantees and creditor status and considering the financial viability of future business opportunities. Also assisted the client with setting out an exit plan for the business by way of an orderly wind down and liquidation. 


Financial Turnaround and Recovery: Worked with Chief and Council to develop long range financial recovery plans and assist Council with implementation and monitoring of those plans. Provided services as a restructuring advisor to implement financial restructuring strategies of economic development entities.


Cashflow Projections & Financial Projections: Assist clients to develop short term cash flow models and related financial projections and assist with prioritizing cash outflows.


Finance Department Operational Reviews: Conducting reviews and assessment of finance departments to identify challenges and impediments to efficient operations. Project scope included: reviewing financial reporting in use, accounting processes being used, assessing department and staff capacity, personnel interviews and the development of recommendations and implementation plans.


Financial Administration Law & Supporting Policy Development: Tailoring financial administration law drafts to specific community requirements to operationalize the financial administration law. Project scope also included the development of supporting policies to coincide with the implementation of the financial administration law


Financial Policy Development: Reviewing, updating and developing financial policies for various clients.


Mentorship / Capacity Development: Mentoring and training Chief and Council on reviewing and interpreting financial reports in order to drive better informed decision making.


Business Analysis and Start Up: Assisting a client with the analysis of business opportunities and taking the opportunities through from the analysis stage to the planning stage and ultimately to implementation. Work consisted of project planning, strategy development, business planning, financial projection development, financing negotiations, addressing permitting and regulatory matters, assisting with recruitment initiatives and all other aspects of driving business implementation.  


Business Strategy Development: Assisting a client with identifying strategic options for consideration in relation to forestry opportunities. The project included assessing various opportunities in relation to the client’s overarching goals to be achieved with their traditional territory. Assisting with developing negotiation strategies and mandates that align to desired outcomes. 


Directorship of Economic Development Corporations: Acting as a director of Economic Development Corporations and providing leadership and oversight to operations. 


Trustee Services: Provided services as Trustee of a settlement trust on behalf of an Indigenous Government. Some specific task included: reporting, financial projections and investment of surplus funds, processing funding applications and liaising with Chief and Council.


Treaty Negotiations: Providing advisory and consulting services supporting fiscal negotiations related to comprehensive treaty negotiations between Indigenous Governments, the federal Government and the Provincial Government. Some of the specific services included: negotiation fiscal chapter language, negotiating fiscal agreements and related side agreements, conducting analysis and review on financial offers, developing counter offers, developing costing models to support financial positions being taken in negotiations, conducting and developing risk analysis, providing community updates and assisting to develop closing plans for negotiations.
